Picture the scene: I'm sat outside my hotel, hungover to high heavens from my friends Hen Do the night before, waiting for my McDonald's breakfast to be delivered when my phone lights up with a notification from Twitter.

It's a tweet from the F1 account (completely weird as I don't have notifications on for them).

The tweet reads:

RED FLAG
MULTIPLE CARS ARE OUT!!!

Shit.

What I didn't expect when I finally watched the race was this tweet to be about the millionth red flag it the race!

Pure. Chaos.

I don't even really know where to start!

Leclerc's streak of bad luck continued, only making it a couple of corners into the race before becoming trapped in the gravel after contact with Stroll. Then Albon's crash caused the first red flag of the race, after he lost control and hit the wall. Upon the restart, poor Nyck De Vries got launched into space by Ocon but luckily the race continued and all was fine for a while...

And then more chaos! Russell was on fire, literally! Magnussen drove into a wall and sent his wheel flying even higher than De Vries earlier, causing a further red flag. At this point I'm thinking maybe I read the tweet wrong, maybe it meant that the race had been called off early with a red flag and the multiple drivers were Leclerc, Albon, Russell and KMag.

But no...

Another restart. Another round of chaos to come.

Sainz clipped fellow Spaniard Alonso, sending him spinning and then I'm not sure what happened! All I know is that De Vries and Sargeant are off into the gravel, Stroll has joined Alonso at the back of the field and the Alpine's have collided and taken each other out of the race causing, THE RED FLAG!

The race finally came to an end under the safety car's hundredth appearance and we saw Verstappen take a leisurely victory, followed by Hamilton and Alonso. Sainz came in 4th but a penalty handed to him for the incident with Alonso saw him placed all the way back in 12th place (last place for this race!)

What I don't understand about the penalty handed to Carlos (which may be me being biased cause I'm a Carlos girly), there was so many other moments of contact in the race, Leclerc and Stroll for example, no one else got given a penalty?! Honestly man, I'm over the FIA's decision making.

Anyway...

Luckily everyone is okay but boy, what a race that was! And now we have to wait until the end of April for the next race... These long breaks are killing me, but at least it gives the hard working mechanics chance to fix the cars that were victims of the chaos.

I'll see you all in Azerbaijan!

Ohhhhhh! Just a quick note. How lovely was it to see Danny Ric back in the paddock with his lovely smile! The boy looks good in Red Bull merch.
